Chinese Stocks Close Monday with Gains

(MENAFN) Chinese equity markets finished Monday's session in positive territory, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index advancing 0.29 percent to reach 4,114 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.09 percent higher at 14,294.05 points.

Combined trading volume across these two indices totaled 2.71 trillion yuan (approximately 386.86 billion U.S. dollars), marking a decline from the previous trading day's 3.03 trillion yuan.

Hotel, tourism, and aircraft manufacturing stocks spearheaded Monday's gains, while the electronic information and financial sectors experienced significant losses.

The ChiNext Index, which monitors China's Nasdaq-style growth enterprise board, declined 0.7 percent to settle at 3,337.61 points Monday.

The STAR Composite Index, reflecting performance on China's sci-tech innovation board, finished 0.21 percent lower at 1,851.07 points on Monday.
