China Confirms Talks with US on Trump’s Planned Visit
"Head-of-state diplomacy plays an irreplaceable role in providing strategic guidance for China-US relations," Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said during a news briefing in Beijing.
Mao added that Beijing and Washington are "in communication regarding President Trump's visit to China," but declined to provide further details about the trip.
The White House confirmed on Friday that Trump is scheduled to visit China for three days, beginning March 31. According to reports, additional information from the US side is limited, though the visit, which would conclude on April 2, is expected to focus heavily on trade discussions between Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping.
