According to reports, officials received initial notifications of the blast at around 10:59 a.m. local time (0159 GMT) in Daejeon, a city situated approximately 140 kilometers south of Seoul.

Authorities stated that it remains unclear whether the incident resulted in any injuries, as assessments were still underway at the time of reporting.

Preliminary findings from police and fire services suggest the explosion may have involved propellant materials used in propulsion systems, although the exact cause has not yet been confirmed.
