Chinese Consul General in Erbil Liu Jun Meets with Governor of Erbil
On 26 August 2026, Consul General Liu Jun met with Mr. Omed Khoshnaw, Governor of Erbil, and discussed exchanges and cooperation between the two sides.
CG Liu noted that cooperation between the two sides has been deepening in recent years, with high-quality Belt and Road cooperation delivering solid results — more and more Chinese companies are investing in Erbil, and Chinese-brand new-energy vehicles are now a common sight on the streets. He hoped the provincial government would continue improving the business environment and introduce more supportive policies for investors.
Governor Khoshnaw thanked China for its strong support of the KRI's development, and said Erbil will continue backing bilateral trade and cultural exchanges, work to broaden and deepen cooperation, and do everything possible to protect the safety and legitimate rights of Chinese institutions and personnel in the province.
