Chinese Ambassador to Naoero Lyu Jin and Minister for Sports Jesse Jeremiah Sign a bilateral development cooperation document and Visit the China-aided Sports Center

On October 17, Chinese Ambassador to Naoero Lyu Jin and Minister for Sports Jesse Jeremiah signed a bilateral development cooperation document, witnessed by Acting President Charmaine Scotty. The two sides visited the China-aided Sports Center and exchanged views on China-Naoero relations and practical cooperation.

Ambassador Lyu Jin said that the Sports Centre is a flagship project that delivers on the mutual understandings reached by the leaders of the two countries and deepens bilateral friendly cooperation. Upon completion, it will serve as the main venue for the 2028 Micronesian Games and celebrations marking the 60th anniversary of Naoero's independence, while providing local people with a place to exercise and stay fit. The Chinese project team will continue their effort to ensure the project is completed to a high standard by the end of 2027.

Scotty and Jeremiah expressed their heartfelt gratitude for China's assistance and said that Naoero would fully support the construction work to ensure the project is delivered on schedule.
