Company to present new A1C research and join the Startup Showcase in its fourth consecutive year at the meeting

Our goal is to make A1C testing more accessible at home and help people manage their diabetes more conveniently.”

WASHINGTON, D.C., WA, UNITED STATES, October 23, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Orange Biomed, a diabetes technology company developing a pocket-sized HbA1c (A1C) meter based on microfluidic single-cell analysis, today announced that it will participate in the 26th Annual Diabetes Technology Meeting (DTM 2026), taking place Oct. 27-29 at the Hyatt Regency Crystal City in Washington, D.C. At the meeting, the company will present a scientific poster and take part in the Startup Showcase.

Co-hosted by the American Diabetes Association® (ADA) and the Diabetes Technology Society (DTS), DTM brings together researchers, clinicians and companies working on new approaches to diabetes care.

At the poster session, Orange Biomed will present its abstract titled "A Pump-Free Microfluidic Sensor for Highly Repeatable HbA1c Monitoring via Flow-Normalized RBC Velocity Variability." The study builds on the company's repeatability research presented as a Late-Breaking Poster at the ADA's 86th Scientific Sessions in June 2026.

The company's OBM rapid A1c is a reusable meter that measures A1C from a single 5 µL fingerstick blood sample and is designed to deliver results in five minutes. Conventional A1C tests, typically performed in laboratories or clinics, measure glycated hemoglobin biochemically using protein reagents. The OBM rapid A1c instead uses a proprietary microfluidic single-cell analysis platform that physically measures the characteristics of individual red blood cells. Because this approach does not rely on biochemical protein measurement, it is less affected by interference from hemoglobin variants. Its reagent-free cartridges can be stored and shipped at room temperature, and the meter requires no recalibration.

"DTM has been a regular stop for us since 2023, and the conversations we have here continue to shape our work," said Yeaseul Park, CEO of Orange Biomed. "At DTM 2026, we look forward to introducing our microfluidic technology to clinicians, researchers and industry partners who can help us bring it to the people who need it most. Our goal is to make A1C testing more accessible at home and help people manage their diabetes more conveniently."

Now attending DTM for the fourth consecutive year, Orange Biomed is accelerating its entry into the medical device market. The company earned ISO 13485 certification for its quality management system in September and is preparing a 510(k) submission to the U.S. FDA for potential over-the-counter clearance of the OBM rapid A1c.
